Answer engine optimisation
Your buyer just asked an AI:“best CRM for a 10-person sales team”“is Corvus any good for small teams”“which vendors allow month-to-month billing”“Acme vs Corvus for a 200-person company”“can a migration lose our historic data”

Were you in
the answer?

AEOxoxo measures whether AI assistants recommend you when a potential customer asks, works out why it is or isn’t happening, and hands you a ranked list of what to do about it.

Precise machine intelligence, and a handwritten promise that a person is on the other end.

What we are

A consultancy. Not another tool, and not another agency.

Your team and your agency are already doing the work. What nobody has is a clear reading of what the AI engines actually say when your buyers ask — and why. That is the part we bring.

We study your position from the outside, tell you what to change and why, and hand the work to the people you already have. Then we keep measuring, so you know the advice was right and the execution is heading where it should.

01

We look before we advise.

Every recommendation starts from what the engines actually say about you, your competitors, and the sources they lean on. Observed first, then explained.

02

Your people do the work.

The report is written for the team and the agency you already have. Nothing to install, nobody embedded, no execution retainer. We don’t compete with them; we point them.

03

We stay to check it worked.

After the changes land, we measure again — whether the advice held, whether the execution is on course, and what to do next. Direction, not a one-off audit.

Everyone else sells the dashboard or the execution. We sell the judgement in between — a narrow lane, and we’re comfortable in it.

We work with companies whose customers do their homework: where a shortlist forms inside an AI answer long before anyone fills in a form or talks to sales, and where being left out of that answer costs deals nobody ever sees.

How it works

Map, symptoms, causes, actions — in that order.

The report reads the same way: outcome first, then the analysis that produced it.

01

The map

“Are we visible in AI search?” isn’t a question anyone can answer — visible to whom, asking what? So we start with the questions your potential customers actually ask, and we map them in segments: who is asking, what they want to know, and how close they are to a decision. Above the segments sits the topic — a business goal you actually care about.

Every segment gets measured on its own, so a weak one is a work order rather than a vague worry.

02

Symptoms

For each segment we ask the AI engines the real questions and record what comes back. Mentioned? Cited? Recommended? Recommended first? Who instead? Six measurements, repeated over time, because the engines change their minds.

Symptoms are observed facts. There is no guesswork in them.

03

Causes

Symptoms tell you where you’re losing, not why. We test the conditions that could explain it — access, clarity, substance, trust, and what the rest of the internet says about you — across your site, your data, and the sources the engines lean on.

We also watch what the brands winning each segment actually change, week over week. Causes are hypotheses until they’re tested, and we say so.

04

Actions

A ranked register. Every recommendation states the prompt and engine affected, what the answer says today with evidence, the stage where it failed, the proposed fix, the indicator we expect to move, effort and owner — and how confident we are in the diagnosis, and how we’ll retest.

The map

Not one score. A map.

A single visibility score averages away the thing you’d pay to know. You can own every pricing question in your category and be absent from every comparison, and a blended number will call that “average”. A segmented view shows you both — and exactly where the work is.

What we measure

Six things, measured — not guessed.

Each one is an observed fact about what the engines said when your buyer asked. That is the scoreboard; everything else in the report explains it.

S1

Where you show up

For every important prompt, on every engine that matters: does an AI answer fire, are you mentioned, is your site cited, who gets recommended first, and how prominently you appear.

S2

The answer funnel

Eligible, retrieved, cited, named, recommended, preferred. A brand can lose at any stage. Being cited isn’t the same as shaping the answer, and being mentioned isn’t the same as being recommended.

S3

Where it broke

For every important absence, the exact stage it failed at: the answer never fired, your page couldn’t be reached, no page addressed the question, you were cited but never named, named but not recommended — or a third party vouched for someone else.

S4

How you’re framed

Recommended, included neutrally, mentioned in passing, cautioned against, excluded — or the worst one: your page used as the source for recommending somebody else.

S5

Who wins instead

The same analysis run on your competitors: who owns each question, which attributes get them picked, who replaces you when you’re absent, and which prompts nobody owns yet.

S6

What they believe about you

Your category, who you’re for, pricing, integrations, security, ownership, strengths and weaknesses, as the engines tell it. Every material inaccuracy logged with its severity, where it reproduces, and what appears to be feeding it.

The honest position

We can measure symptoms with confidence. We can’t yet say which causes drive which symptoms. Nobody can.

The engines don’t publish their pipelines. So we state symptoms as findings, state causes as diagnosis with our reasoning attached, put a confidence level on every recommendation, and never dress a correlation up as a mechanism. If that sounds less confident than the dashboards, it’s because it’s true.

What you get

A report that reads outcome-first.

Analyst-delivered. We run the measurement and the diagnosis on our side; nobody gets embedded in your team and there is no tooling for you to operate. What lands in your AEOxoxo account:

01

Executive summary first

What’s working, what isn’t, in order of importance.

02

Outcome, analysis, likely reason, fix

Every section, in that order. The analysis isn’t an appendix; it’s the reason to believe the finding.

03

The interactive map

Click any segment, see your position and every competitor’s in it.

04

The ranked action register

Fix, evidence, owner, effort, leading indicator, and our confidence on every line.

05

From the second report: what changed

What the brands winning your topics changed since last time, on their sites and where the answers get made.

06
